The Line
Did my heart love till now? Forswear it, sight!
For I ne'er saw true beauty till this night. Deny thy father and refuse thy name.
Or if thou wilt not, be but sworn my love And I'll no longer be a Capulet. Good Night, Good Night!
Parting is such sweet sorrow, that I shall say good night till it be morrow. True, I talk of dreams,
which are the children of an idle brain, begot of nothing but vain fantasy. He jests at scars that never felt a wound.
No, 't is not so deep as a well,
nor so wide as a church-door; but 't is enough, 't will serve. Is crimson in thy lips and in thy cheeks,
and death's pale flag is not advanced there. |
Why I Like It
When we know someone won't end up liking us the same way we like them, you find someone else after awhile and they just replace the other person with their feeling.
It describes how Juliet would give up her family for the man she is truly in love with. Many people would be too afraid to give things up for relationships.
It is hard to leave the ones you love behind, even though it is only for the night. Juliet expresses the pain of leaving Romeo to his face.
Dreams are what people want to come true. They come when the brain is "paused" from working.
You can't make fun of someone for feeling something if you haven't felt it before, like love.
Little things people do can harm someone in ways it cannot be fixed.
Some things still manage to be beautiful even though they are "dead,' as Romeo believed Juliet was.
